40 Years Strong — Built on Family, Trust, and the Central Valley

January 2, 2026 by dev_af2uw2 Leave a Comment

As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, I want to pause and reflect on where BOSS Business Systems began — and where we are headed.

Forty years ago, this company was founded by my father with a clear vision: build a business rooted in integrity, hard work, and genuine relationships, while providing Central Valley organizations with dependable technology and exceptional service. What started as a family-driven commitment to doing right by customers has grown into something far bigger — but those original values remain unchanged.

BOSS has always been more than equipment or technology. It has been about showing up, standing behind our word, and supporting the businesses that power this region. Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to serve manufacturers, healthcare providers, schools, ag operations, municipalities, and small businesses — many of whom we’ve partnered with for decades.

This milestone belongs to our customers, partners, and especially our employees. Your trust, dedication, and belief in what we do is the reason BOSS is here today. We are proud of the culture that has been built — one that values accountability, innovation, and people.

For the past 14 years, I’ve had the privilege of leading BOSS into its next chapter. During that time, together with this incredible team, we’ve experienced the highest levels of growth in our company’s history — a reflection of our people, our customers’ trust, and our willingness to evolve while staying true to our roots.

Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, our future has never been more exciting.

Technology is moving faster than ever, and we see that as an opportunity to lead. We are investing in modern infrastructure, security-first solutions, automation, and AI-driven tools designed to help our customers work smarter, protect what matters most, and scale for the future. Our focus is not on chasing trends, but on delivering practical, reliable solutions that create real business value.

Through all of this growth and change, one thing will always remain constant: our commitment to the Central Valley. We are here to support the businesses that keep this region strong — today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.

What my father started 40 years ago continues with the same purpose, strengthened by experience and guided by optimism for the future. I’m honored to carry that legacy forward.

Thank you for being part of our journey.

Here’s to 40 years — and to everything ahead.

With sincere gratitude,

Russell Fisher

Introducing BOSS AI Smart Service

December 10, 2025 by dev_af2uw2 Leave a Comment

At BOSS Business Systems, our mission has always been simple: deliver exceptional service with the least friction possible. Over the past year, we’ve seen a major shift in how customers prefer to interact with their technology partners. Today’s users expect 24/7 responsiveness, instant answers, automated workflows, and an overall smoother customer experience.

We listened — and we built something new.

We’re excited to introduce BOSS AI Smart Service, our own in-house developed digital helper designed to make managing your Konica Minolta equipment easier than ever.

With Smart Service, customers can now:

  • Request service in seconds
  • Order toner instantly
  • Report meter reads without logging in
  • Ask questions any time — day or night
  • Get quick, accurate answers powered by real product and service knowledge

This new tool allows us to serve our customers faster and more efficiently, while reducing the time you spend on repetitive tasks. And best of all: it’s available 24/7, even when the office isn’t.

Why We Built It Ourselves

Instead of purchasing an off-the-shelf system, we made the decision to design and engineer Smart Service internally. That allowed us to:

  • Tailor the experience specifically for BOSS customers
  • Train the system on our own products, service processes, and knowledge base
  • Integrate it directly with how our techs work
  • Continuously update it based on real customer feedback
  • Ensure speed, accuracy, and response quality remain our highest priority

Most AI tools on the market are generic. We wanted something built for our customers, not for the masses — and Smart Service reflects that mission.

AI + Customer Experience (CX): The Future Is Already Here

Our decision wasn’t just about convenience. It’s backed by real customer-experience data:

Industry CX Trends

  • 73% of consumers say that speed is the most important factor in a good service experience (Forrester).
  • 67% prefer self-service options before calling or emailing support (Zendesk CX Report).
  • Organizations using AI-powered service tools have seen:
    • 30–40% reductions in response times
    • 20–25% fewer repetitive support tickets
    • Higher customer satisfaction scores due to faster resolution (McKinsey Digital).
  • And by 2026, Gartner predicts that over 80% of customer interactions will involve some form of AI enhancement.

AI is rapidly becoming a foundation of great customer service — not by replacing people, but by amplifying the tools and responsiveness customers depend on.

Smart Service helps us meet those expectations today, not years from now.

Want to Build Something Similar for Your Business?
We Can Help.

Many of our customers have already asked how they can bring AI into their own business processes — whether in customer service, HR, operations, or internal communication.

Because we developed Smart Service ourselves, we can now help you:

  • Build custom AI workflows
  • Automate internal tasks
  • Create digital assistants for your employees or customers
  • Integrate AI into your website, CRM, or service processes
  • Train AI tools on your documents, products, or procedures

AI isn’t just a trend — it’s becoming a competitive advantage. And like any technology shift, the organizations that adopt early see the greatest long-term benefits.

If you’re interested in improving your customer experience or streamlining internal workflows with AI, we’d be happy to show you what’s possible.

Your Feedback Will Help Shape the Future of Smart Service

This is just the beginning. Smart Service will continue to evolve with new features, integrations, and capabilities — and your feedback will help guide every step forward.

We invite you to try it out and let us know how we can make it even better.

Thank you for trusting BOSS Business Systems. We’re excited for this next chapter of smart, customer-focused support — built right here in the Central Valley, for the businesses we proudly serve.

Technology: The Great Equalizer for Small Business

November 27, 2025 by dev_af2uw2 Leave a Comment

In the Central Valley, small businesses are the backbone of our communities. We’re running shops, manufacturing products, fixing machines, supporting customers, and keeping our local economy alive. But we’re also facing the same pressures as everyone else across the country — tighter margins, labor shortages, new customer expectations, and constant competitive pressure.

A recent report from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Empowering Small Business: The Impact of Technology on U.S. Small Business, reinforces something I’ve been saying for years: technology isn’t just helpful — it’s essential.
(Read the report)

We’re Watching the Digital Divide Close — Fast

According to the U.S. Chamber, nearly every small business in America now relies on at least one digital platform. What used to be “nice to have” is now the price of admission. And what’s really striking is how quickly AI adoption is accelerating — nearly 60% of small businesses are using AI today, more than double just two years ago.

Why? Because when technology is applied the right way, it creates real advantages:

  • Better efficiency and productivity
  • Lower operational costs
  • Higher sales and more predictable growth
  • Less administrative drag on your team
  • The ability to do more with fewer people

This is exactly what we see every day with our clients — technology levels the playing field.

Small Businesses Are Becoming More Capable Than Ever

When I meet with business owners, I hear the same story: “We’re growing, but we can’t grow the way we used to.” You can’t simply hire more people to fix the problem. You need systems.

Modern technology gives small businesses access to enterprise-level capabilities without enterprise-level budgets. I’m talking about:

  • AI that automates time-consuming tasks
  • Modern phone systems that streamline customer service
  • Asset tracking tools that keep equipment and inventory under control
  • Cloud-based systems that remove the need for expensive infrastructure
  • Subscription-based services that scale as you grow

This isn’t theory — we’re doing this work every day at BOSS, and we see how quickly it transforms operations.

Why This Matters to Us at BOSS

Our mission at BOSS is simple: empower small and mid-sized businesses with the tools they need to compete and win.

That means supporting local manufacturers, service companies, integrators, nonprofits, and those organizations driving workforce development and economic growth.

Technology is the connector.

It connects manufacturers to better automation.
It connects field teams to their assets.
It connects businesses to their customers.
And it connects all of us to greater opportunity.

A Simple Message for 2026 and Beyond: Don’t Get Left Behind

If you run a small business today, you cannot afford to sit on the sidelines. The data is clear, the results are obvious, and the gap between tech-enabled companies and everyone else is only widening.

The good news? You don’t need to overhaul everything overnight. Start with one thing — one workflow, one platform, one piece of automation — and build from there.

At BOSS, we’ve built our company around helping organizations take these steps, whether it’s AI, communications, security, workflow automation, or device and asset tracking. If you’re ready to strengthen your business and future-proof your operations, we’re ready to help.

Small business is the heartbeat of the Central Valley. Technology is how we keep it strong.

Navigating AI Infrastructure Security for Small Businesses: What You Need to Know

May 21, 2025 by dev_af2uw2 Leave a Comment

At BOSS Business Systems, we understand that small businesses in California’s Central Valley are increasingly looking to leverage AI technologies to stay competitive. However, with great power comes great responsibility, especially when it comes to data security. Today, we’re diving into the critical security concerns surrounding AI infrastructure services and how to address them.

The Promise and Perils of AI for Small Business

Artificial Intelligence offers small businesses unprecedented opportunities to automate tasks, gain insights, and enhance customer experiences. However, as you consider adopting AI infrastructure services, it’s crucial to be aware of potential security risks.

Key Security Concerns to Consider:

  1. Data Privacy and Confidentiality: When using cloud-based AI services, your business data is processed on external servers. This raises questions about data exposure and confidentiality.
  2. Data Usage and Ownership: Understand who owns the outputs generated by AI models and what rights you have to the data.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that AI services comply with relevant data protection laws like GDPR, HIPPA or CCPA, especially if you handle sensitive customer information.
  4. Access Control: Protect your API keys and manage who in your organization can access AI services.
  5. Model Risks: Be aware that AI models can sometimes produce unexpected or incorrect outputs, which could impact your business decisions.

Practical Steps for Secure AI Adoption

To help you navigate these concerns, here are some practical steps:

  1. Review Service Agreements: Carefully read the terms of service and privacy policies of AI service providers.
  2. Limit Data Exposure: Only send necessary data to AI services, avoiding sensitive information where possible.
  3. Implement Strong Access Controls: Use robust authentication methods and regularly rotate API keys.
  4. Monitor and Audit: Keep logs of AI service usage for auditing purposes.
  5. Educate Your Team: Ensure your staff understands the risks and best practices when using AI tools.

Colocation: A Secure Foundation for AI Infrastructure

For businesses requiring more control over their AI infrastructure, colocation services offer a compelling solution. At BOSS Business Systems, we partner with all of the leading data center AI services and can help recommend the correct one for your organization.

As technology advances, artificial intelligence (AI) is sweeping through the middle market, offering businesses transformative tools to enhance efficiency and build resilience in every major aspect of operations. With countless challenges and shifting demands, adopting AI in supply chain management is becoming crucial. The role of supply chain officers is key in crafting a robust AI strategy that can overhaul the supply chain and deliver substantial value.

Surveys reveal that a sizeable 78% of executives are engaging with AI, at least informally. Yet, only 20% feel they have made significant inroads in AI integration. Furthermore, 67% of those utilizing generative AI admit requiring external support to maximize its potential. Interestingly, while functions like data analytics, IT, and customer service are extensively leveraging generative AI, supply chain management lags behind at just 15%. (Source RSM)

Opportunities for Supply Chain Leaders to Harness AI

The growth of AI presents a significant opportunity for supply chain officers to revolutionize processes and shape the business’s future.

Key aspects for supply chain leaders to consider include improving margin, reducing working capital, scaling business, reducing risk, and optimizing the workforce. Integrating AI effectively involves:

Many companies are transitioning from a proof-of-concept phase to implementing AI solutions that will yield results over the next year.

Navigating Challenges in AI Adoption

While AI offers transformative benefits, it also presents challenges that must be navigated effectively:

  • Misinformation: Poor data can lead to missed opportunities; initial critical evaluation is crucial.
  • Risk Management: Address both technical and ethical risks of AI deployment, including data protection.
  • Governance Models: Develop AI governance to mitigate risks related to data interpretation and security breaches.
  • AI Readiness Evaluation: Begin with a readiness assessment to pinpoint objectives and potential use cases.

Strategic Use Cases for AI in Supply Chains AI has the potential to drive supply chain success in numerous ways:

Generative and Autonomous Technologies: Employ AI to solve complex problems and innovate within supply chain processes.

Trend and Predictive Analysis: Improve demand forecasting and market adaptation through AI-driven insights.

Workflow Automation: Automate routine tasks, freeing up teams for strategic endeavors.

Conclusion: The Essential Role of AI in Supply Chains
